Just 30 kilometres from Seville and dominating a vast and fertile plain you find Carmona. The actual city still reproduces, with very few variations, the Roman city plan, now about 1800 years old. The two main portals, opening the entrance to the historic centre, surrounded by town walls, are of Roman origin. However, the most significant and unique Roman monument is the "Necropolis". |

| By car: Carmona is about 20 minutes drive from the Andalusian capital Seville on highway A4 in the direction of Córdoba and from the latter just 40 minutes, reached by the same highway, this time in direction Seville. From whichever direction you approach, take the exit "Marchena - Carmona" (passing several other exits indicating only Carmona). Driving uphill to the town you enter the centre through a beautiful arch. From now on just follow the hotels' signs. Follow the signs to the hotel, which will be on your right. After a short distance you will drive under a Roman Gate "Puerta de Córdoba" (from the 1st century B.C.), keep on going straight ahead and you will arrive at Hotel Alcázar de la Reina where we are always waiting for you. |
