| The first plan you should carry out on your arrival to Caleta del Mar is a stroll to the centre of Corralejo, placed only 2 kilometres away. You can walk parallel to the coastline, with a fantastic panorama on your right hand as you ascend Avenida de los Grandes Playas, and then continue along internal streets till you come to the restaurants, souvenir shops, discotheques and terrace cafés of downtown. Originally, Corralejo was born as a fishermen`s village, but eventually it turned into a popular destiny for tourists seeking sun and relax, due to its crystalline waters and ample beaches. Once you have sunbathed enough to come back home toned, from the port you can take ferries to Isla de Lobos, a delightful natural reserve, or to the neighbour island of Lanzarote. If you are looking for a more cultural activity, travel to La Oliva and visit the Casa de los Coroneles, a mansion from the 18th century. |
