By Plane
It is really easy to approach the coast of Granada by plane, as there are 3 airports welcoming national and international flights in the area: the one at Granada (85 kilometres from Motril), Malaga and Almeria (100 km).

By Car
If you land at Granada airport, go along the A-92 motorway and get off at exit 230 "Santa Fe/ Granada/ Sierra Nevada". You will be on A-92G, but as you come to Granada, you must take the first exit at a roundabout and get on the E-902/ A-44 towards "Madrid/ Sierra Nevada". After driving past Armilla and Dúrcal, take the N-323 motorway, till you reach Varadero: on your left hand side you will see an industrial establishment. Turn right into Calle del Moral and again in Avenida de Julio Moreno: the Gran Hotel Elba Motril comes into view a while later, right in front of the beach. (It will take you around an hour to drive this 84 km distance)

By Train
In order to approach Motril on public transport you may get by train to Malaga or Granada (from Madrid there are daily services taking 4 hours in the first case and 4 hours 30 minutes in the second), and then buses to Motril. For example, at Malaga take bus 654 that reaches Motril in 2 hours 15 minutes; and at Granada, line 623, getting to Motril in 1 hour 15 minutes, or 744, in 1 hour 30 minutes. Once at Motril the best way to reach the hotel is by taxi.
