Monuments:
Antequera is rich in history. Evidence has been found that humans have lived here since the year 2500 B.C., and proof of this are some of the most important and well-preserved Dolmens in all Europe: the Menga, Viera and Romeral Dolmens, which constitute a true world heritage
The countless archaeological findings, such as the Efebo, the Arab baths, the mosaics found in the noble dwellings built during Roman and Arab times, and many instruments and vessels tell us of the ancestral cultural wealth of this city.
The fortress, set amidst a series of civil and religious buildings, complete a rich architectural inventory that combine different styles and times of the city.

Nature:
The Nature Reserve of El Torcal, a natural maze of limestone figures, is an amazing and unforgettable sight. Its paths are signposted to enable visitors to make their way around this wonder of nature, an example of one of the finest "karstitic limestone" sites in all Europe
The mountains that surround Antequera make it possible to contemplate yet another of nature's wonders: the Desfiladero de los Gaitanes, a closed-off gorge hundreds of metres deep where, many years ago, the Caminito del Rey was built, now a favourite haunt of rock-climbers.
The Laguna de Fuente de Piedra, the largest salt lake in Europe, houses one of the largest colonies of flamingos in the Mediterranean, and is their favourite spot for nesting.

Leasure:
One of the most important festivals is the Easter Week procession, due to the fact that it has been celebrated for a great many years, in addition to the beauty of the religious sculptures which are taken out of the churches for a few days, to be admired and followed by throngs of penitents.
The Spring Festival, which fills the fields with colour, marks a special celebration, followed by the Livestock Fair in May.
In August, Antequera celebrates its Royal Fair in its streets, when people make the most of their leisure and tradition. There are a great many interesting bullfights and festivities that continue until the early hours of the morning.
Equally important for the city is the Day of the Patroness of Antequera, celebrated on September 8th, the day of Saint Euphemia and the Virgen of All Remedies.
