Facilities within the Property

Every single facility in the Hotel Miraflores is thought for your comfortable stay after a stroll along Spain`s most popular beaches, o a dive in the inn`s pool. Once you enter the building in shades of corn and saffron, only 40 metres from the sand, an open reception space will welcome you either if you are exhausted from sports or totally relaxed from so much sunshine. The marble floors and friendly decoration allow you to make a brief stop before taking the elevator to any of the 69 rooms of the hotel.

At the front desk, which offers a 24-hour service, the attendants speak Spanish, English, French, Italian and German and will help you with money exchange and planning your tours around Playa de Palma and the city of Palma. If before getting some rest in your room you feel like having a cold drink, you will find the Miraflores` bar right besides the reception. Here, lots of small tables placed around the bar, a pool table and darts are available for your entertainment while you wait for your favourite "platillos", as the Spanish call snacks: salads, hamburgers, French fries and sandwiches are some of them.

Otherwise, the lounge has comfortable armchairs with flowery tapestry that become ideal both to wait for your excursions to start or for playing games on rainy days. Leaving this fast food plates behind, the rest of the meals are served at the Hotel Gala, located just across the street from the Miraflores (the distance if of approx. 25 metres). This lodging, also belonging to the Amic Hotels chain, has a dining room where a breakfast buffet is displayed every morning in an ambiance especially created for a beach hotel.

Big broad windows that reach the ceiling overlook a patio with plants and small fountains, therefore the light and view for your first meal are really outstanding: a variety of pastas, juices, fruits and cereals are presented along with coffee, tea and milk; bacon, cheese and sausages compliment these traditional plates for those visitors used to the American breakfast. Light pink curtains contribute to the generally quiet atmosphere in this area, where you may also have lunch or dinner if you have already tried the restaurants at the promenade facing the Mediterranean.

Pork, meat, chicken and fish are served in different presentations, along with other seafood, salads and cold meat, although these are just some of the options in a really varied offer. After your meal, you may make the most of your visit to the Hotel Gala by checking your e-mail account or browsing the web: for a certain cost, you will be able to use the two computers disposed on the ground floor of the inn. However, a beach hotel is not complete without a swimming pool: for cloudy days or just to relax after a day in the sand, the Hotel Miraflores has a solarium with deck chairs and a pool.

The view from this marvellous resting place is the sea, once again, therefore you will be able to enjoy the sun rays or keep an eye on your children having fun in the water with the waves right behind your sunglasses. And in addition to this, you may ask for a drink or snack from the hotel`s bar and have it from your own deck chair. At Hotel Miraflores you will also find accommodations for disabled guests, a garage for bikes and a telephone booth; however, there is no baby-sitting service.

The main facilities you will find in the area surrounding the Hotel Miraflores have to do with sport and entertainment. Can Pastilla is famous for its windsurf, kitesurf and wakeboard amenities, along with its beach volley courts and promenades for taking long strolls besides the sea. There are tennis courts only 150 metres from the front door, the "Minigolf Fantasía" at 3 kilometres distance, and the Can Pastilla Nautical Club, at 900 metres. A bit farther, you will find a football stadium called "Estadio Son Moix" (11 km) and the golf court "Campo de Son Antem" (15 km). Nevertheless, the city of Palma has many cultural sights too, ideal for taking a break from the sun rays. The Arabs invasion in the island, that took place after the Romans and the talayotic ones, left a legacy visible in the Almudaina Palace, built on the remains of the Muslim Alcazar: it was here where the early kings chose to reside in Mallorca, due to the luxury of the place, which would be later called "the Royal Palace". However, this heritage from the Arabs is also present at Palma`s landmark, the Cathedral: known as "la Seo" by the Mallorquines, it was built between the 14th and 19th centuries, but it gained its most precious details thanks to Antoni Gaudi`s interior, designed in the 20th century. Another sightseeing must in Mallorca are the Caves of Drac: the island of Mallorca boasts plenty of caves, but these located in Portocristo are the most famous, with four chambers full of stalactites that become your silent companions as you go through them. The Martel Lake is one of the miracles during this unbelievable tour: not only will you be in front of the largest subterranean lake in the world, measuring 177 metres, but you will enjoy the amazing concert of classical music held in this one of a kind scenario, right under the surface of the earth.
