The beaches at Puerto del Carmen are ideal both for sunbathing and practising nautical sports. After you have stayed at the Playa Grande, the nearest to the hotel, you should try the sands of Los Pocillos and Matagorda, where an extra quote of wind makes the waves perfect for windsurf lovers.
The rest of the sights in Lanzarote have to do with the volcanic conditions of the soil: to the north of Arrecife, the Guanapay castle stands on a volcanic cone, while at Malpaís de la Corona the Cueva de los Verdes surprises as it is huge tube which used to be host to the passage of lava in past times. |
