 The Hotel Orfila was opened in 1999 and it is located in the Orfila Street, in a mansion built in 1886 in the very centre of Madrid. This 19th century mansion is located in a calm and selected residential area, in the cultural and business centre of Madrid, next to the Colon Square, where the Christopher Columbus statue is. It belongs to the new concept of hotels recently coming to Madrid. This emblematic building was home of an upper middle class family, and became popular in the 20´s among the cultural society because it hosted many theatre plays and performances in a theatre set in the basement of the palace. |
 In 1999 it was rebuilt as a hotel, keeping the stylish atmosphere of the last century, in addition to all kind of comforts according to a luxury hotel of this time. The building still retains the façade, the carriage entrance and the main stairway of the last century mansion. The hotel has 32 rooms, twelve of them Suite. It stands up because of its tasteful decoration, with époque furniture, painted wallpapers, bronze banisters and polychrome painted marble floors. |
