Public Holidays

Public holidays (sometimes callled "Bank Holidays") in Spain are as follows. Banks and official institutions close on these days.

• January 1 - New Year's Day
• January 6 - the Epiphany
• March 19 - Father's Day
• Variable - Good Friday
• Variable - Easter Sunday
• May 1 - Labour Day
• June 24 - St. John's Day
• Variable (mid June) - Corpus Christi
June 29 - St. Peter & St. Paul
July 25 - St.James, patron saint of Spain
• August 15 - Feast of the Assumption
• October 12 - Spain's National Day (Columbus Day)
• November 1 - All Saints' Day
• December 6 - Constitution Day
• December 8 - Feast of the Immaculate Conception
• December 25 - Christmas Day

Although Christmas Eve isn't a public holiday, some shops and businesses will be closed or close early on this day.

All Spanish towns, villages and cities have their own holiday dates.
